1. Licence and price

Viktor is free for personal and business use, on any number of computers. Nothing is paid for and nothing is unlocked.

The program is licensed for use, not sold. The author retains all rights: you may not sell it, repackage it, modify it, reverse engineer it or derive other works from it. You may share it only by linking to the official page — an installer from any other source may have been altered.

2. What the program does with your data

Viktor runs entirely on your computer. It sends nothing anywhere about what it cleans or what it found. No ads, no tracking, no cookies.

Only two things leave your computer, both described in the help:

• Version check — once a week it downloads a public file with the latest version number. It attaches a random number identifying this installation, so the running copies of Viktor can be counted. It reveals nothing about you or your computer.
• Feedback — only when you send it yourself. Before sending you can display exactly what will be sent. E-mail is optional.

3. Deleting and the Hole

Viktor first shows what it would delete and waits for your confirmation. Some files are deleted directly (temporary files and caches that rebuild themselves), the rest goes to the Hole.

Items can be restored from the Hole for seven days. After seven days the contents are deleted permanently and cannot be restored. Count on that — the Hole is not a backup.

Backing up your data is your responsibility. Viktor does not make backups and does not replace them.

4. No warranty

The program is provided “as is”, without any warranty — express or implied. The author does not guarantee that it will work without faults, on every computer, or that it will be continuously available.

The author is not liable for loss of data or any other damage arising from use of the program. The decision what to delete is always yours — which is why Viktor deletes nothing without confirmation and states for every item why it is safe.

This does not affect your consumer rights which cannot be excluded by law.

5. Changes

These terms may change; the version on this page, with the date above, always applies. Significant changes will be mentioned in the release notes.
